| The PXI-H990 Multimedia Manager is an ‘all-powerful’ unit that provides the absolute best in-cabin sound control that is currently possible, and includes compatibility with all the latest media formats such as DVD-Audio, and features real-time auto sound adjustment such as Road EQ. It also is geared for forward compatibility with future systems and features, represented by the expansion to time correction (TCR) and 16-channel systems.
This product is cutting edge and top of the line not only in function and sound quality but also in internal digital circuit design. For example, we utilized low current operation (reducing from the conventional 3.3V to 1.2V) in the parts for the core device, bringing it into line with the mainstream in computer devices today. With this low current operation design, high accumulation and high speed in the circuit can be achieved with low heat and low current, allowing greater precision. This is one of the realizations of the design idea by Micro Dynamics. The previous Multimedia Manager was the absolute best processor for the ‘static’ in-car environment, which was required at that time. This time though, we have a new Multimedia Manager that achieves – for the first time – a system core that creates ideal sound in real time for a constantly changing and dynamic in-car environment.
As a designer, I believe I put in every possible advanced feature, but I am left wondering whether they’ll be used properly. For example, I made sure that the highest level functions and quality were included expanding the system up to 16 channels, while wondering whether customers would use these functions or not. My doubts were quelled and I felt a great satisfaction in my heart when I saw the product used effectively and to full advantage in the demo cars of stores that go all out to create state-of-the-art systems.
The new AlpineF#1Status delivers a truly comprehensive system that lets owners freely craft their own personal audio setup. I truly hope many people can experience this ultra-luxurious mobile media system for themselves. |
