Sound System Engineering 03/02
Hitoshi Saito "Tuning an audio system is like bringing together the members of anorchestra, getting the sound balance right, and making sure they work together."
Using our ears and musical sensibilities to create the most advanced real-time noise compensation system—Road EQ.
The role of the sound master is to make the right acoustic judgments and adjust the equipment to make it sound most musical. This requires the human touch, and cannot be done by some electronic measuring device. To make AlpineF#1Status the best it could be, we brought our ears, our aesthetic sense and musical sensibilities.

Case in point: the amazing Road EQ processing on the PXI-H990. This feature uses high-speed calculations (of 48,000 times every second) to cancel the influence of road noise. In creating this, we conducted extensive listening tests to arrive at the ideal processing—knowing that the only tools we have to distinguish whether any given sound is noise or music are our own ears.

This is what makes the new AlpineF#1Status such a landmark audio system—that it realizes the absolute best sound not merely by application of the most sophisticated technology, but by fully incorporating the human element and taking into account the sensitivity of the human ear.
